| Candidate Statement:
I believe the purpose of the Board of Education should be to provide the most equitable and best educational opportunities possible for children. This would include the best facilities, the most effective programs, and the best teachers.
Because of the reduction in funding due to the economic situation, experience in helping to determine the budget of the school system is important. It is critical to maintain a high level of services to students and to preserve classroom positions.
It is my goal that no employee of the Johnston County school system lose a position in these difficult economic times. My experience in the school system and on the Board of Education puts me in a unique position to help make sure the children of our county continue to receive an outstanding educational opportunity.
