Candidate Statement:

In December, 2008 the Nash County Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed me to complete the unexpired term of the late Jay Alford. When appointed, I made only one commitment to the people of Nash County -- to always give my very best effort. It is my belief that every decision should be made only after careful consideration of all the facts. I am proud of the votes I have made on the issues that have been brought before the County Commissioners, and would welcome the opportunity to talk with you or any group of individuals about my position on any matter.

Born, raised and educated in Nash County and employed for over 31 years at Abbott Laboratories, located in Nash County, I have a strong allegiance to this area. If you review my bio page, you'll see that my involvement with the community and the community at large has been and continues to be extensive. Not only do I realize the value of strong community roots, I understand the decisions we make now will serve as a roadmap for our future.

As a fiscal conservative, I commit to you that I will continue to work with the County Commissioners and others as appropriate, in an effort to advance Nash County responsibly, making it an even better place to live.
It is a great honor and a privilege to serve as your County Commissioner and it is also a great responsibility -- a responsibility that I take very seriously!

Your support and vote for me in the November General Election would be very much appreciated.  If elected, I commit to you my continued very best effort!
