| Candidate Statement:
I am a candidate for the North Carolina State Senate because I believe I will bring new leadership and fresh ideas to Raleigh. I have served as a local and statewide policy maker for nearly twenty years. I have worked at East Carolina University, in Public Health and in the Public Schools. I have served on numerous boards and commissions. I have the experience to make thoughtful and sometimes difficult decisions. I am aware of the needs and values of the people in my district and the Northeast part of our state. I will serve well and honorably and make a difference in the lives of the people in the fifth district.
