| Candidate Statement:
Thank you for taking the time to look over my profile. I am very excited about this campaign and am excited to serve the citizens of Pitt County in this capacity. Pitt County needs real leadership and real solutions to the issues facing our county. The time for status quo politics is over on every level of government. I will be an action oriented commissioner who will work to bring industry to Pitt County.
We need jobs here and the current leadership has not done enough to bring them here as evidenced by our almost 10% unemployment rate. Our schools are failing, with only 8 of 33 meeting their AYP. This is behind districts of comparable size as well as larger districts such as Charlotte.
As your commissioner I will work to empower our teachers and parents in the quest to improve our schools and make Pitt County a positive example of public education. I will also support our emergency services workers and social workers in Pitt County. Currently our Social Services Department is underfunded and over worked. I will work to improve conditions so our department of social services is well funded and can service our growing population.
The Pitt County Sheriff's Office was promised raises and support which never came. Those promises are again being made by my opponent who will again fail to deliver. As a police officer myself I understand the daily trials our deputies go through. I will stand with our deputies and will deliver the support they need on the county commission.
Once again thank you for taking the time to read this, please visit my web site for further information on my candidacy.
- Glen Webb
