Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):

I was born in Sampson County in 1953. I grew up across the county line in Cumberland County where I lived till 1976 when at age of 23 I moved to Robeson County to start a business where I have been since. In May we started our 35th year in business. I have made my home in Robeson County, it has been good to me. I have started other businesses here and now operate three in Robeson County. I was awarded Robeson County Business Man of the Year in 1998. I am a member of Lumberton Rotary Club and Robeson Classic Cars.

I grew up with a mother that instilled conservative Christian values in me. She also taught me how to give to my church and my community. I owe all that I have and all that I will ever be to God. I am a member of Trinity Holiness Church where I serve on the advisory board am assistant Sunday superintendant and I operate the Projection System.

I attended Cape Fear High School and graduated in 1971. I did not attend college which I am not proud of, I wanted to go to work and accomplish something. I heard and old saying as a young man that it did not matter what you did, if you push hard enough and yell loud enough you would make a go of it. That has been one of my mottos, it has worked for me.

I started working at sales in 1972 at the age of 19 and with only 2 jobs behind me I started my own company in 1976. I bought my first small home and had it paid for at the age of 21.

At 23 I borrowed $10,000 against my home at a local Savings & Loan to start image supply inc. and here I am 34 years later.

Candidate Statement:

A misconceptions I want to help clear up is the Democratic Party is for the small guy and the Republican Party is for the rich. The Republican Party is for everyone and places an emphasis on smaller government. If the Democratic Party is for the small man it is doing a poor job in Robeson County and they have had over 100 years to prove it. Robeson county is one of the poorest in the state. Many Robesonians are conservative people but are registered and vote Democratic because that is the way it has always been. I would like to challenge everyone to look at their real beliefs and be sure they align with the people with whom they are voting.

I am very troubled by what I see happening to our country. This once land of the free and the home of the brave, has become the land of the entitled and the home of an ever increasing debt that threatens to bring our country to financial ruin. How do we get out of this mess? I believe less government and business opportunity is the answer. I believe most government jobs should be contracted to private enterprise. Give current government employees the opportunity to take departments that they can operate more efficiently and make a small business of it.

I learned a long time ago, to get a good employee you must look for a person you can give your checkbook to. In essence that is what you are doing when you hire someone, to meet your customers, drive your vehicles, among other things. I am asking my neighbors to hire me to be their employee, to manage there tax checkbook.
