| Candidate Statement:
I am enthusiastically seeking the Wake County Clerk of Superior Court's office because I believe that my background and education make me uniquely qualified for the position. I am dedicated to ensuring that the rule of law, not politics, is applied equally to all persons before the Wake County courts.
This office is responsible for many functions that affect the lives of almost every citizen at some point. The Clerk supervises over 150 employees and 24 court rooms. (Please see my website for the Clerk of Court's responsibilities.) When attorneys, professionals and citizens turn to us to provide information, it must be produced accurately and promptly. Any customer of the Clerk's office should be treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. I will make sure that the backlog of documents and the record keeping functions of all civil and criminal cases in Wake County Courts are up to date.
Since the Clerk's office handles the probate of wills and estates, competency hearings, guardianship appointments, juvenile matters, adoptions, foreclosures and condemnations, I will assure that all hearings are promptly scheduled and handled.
I will make sure that all employees are treated equally and fairly and are trained appropriately according to their job descriptions. I have been endorsed by judicial officials, attorneys, elected officials and business and community leaders. I am very grateful for the support of individuals that I have known for 30 years in Wake County. |
