Candidate Biography (submitted by campaign):

Efton Sager is a leader committed to serving his community. Completing his second term on the Wayne County Commissioners, he is president of East Carolina Council of Government, chairman of the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross and member of the Wayne County Health Board.

Efton has served on the Board of Directors of the Seymour Johnson Federal Credit Union, past chapter president of the Non-Commissioned Officers Association and a former president of the Wayne Rifle and Pistol Club.  He is a retired Air Force veteran serving in Korea and Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star. 

He holds a business degree from Wayne Community College and is the business manager for JW Logging.  He and his wife have lived in the Mar-Mac community for 42 years and are active members in their church.  Efton is a Gideon and a certified lay speaker for the United Methodist Church.

Candidate Statement:

We must have change in North Carolina by exercising fiscal responsibility.  Jobs through economic development are essential.  We must resolve the education crisis, by educating a prepared work force.  Immigration problems are putting a strain on the state's resources.  This problem has to be resolved.  Further protecting our freedoms -- individual rights, prevent government seizure of private property, guard our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, and prevent cities from annexing neighborhoods without consent of the people.
