Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):
Tamera Frank was born and reared in the mountains of Yancey County.
Frank is the mother of two teens, Silver and Nikolai, and the wife of Perry Frank, an employee with the NC Department of Corrections and a retired member of the United States Air Force.
She obtained a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations and Communications, with a minor in Journalism, from Mars Hill College in 1994.
Frank's work history ranges from managing a family-owned business to journalism, and volunteer work, both stateside and abroad.
Prior to her son's diagnosis of cancer and bone marrow transplant at St. Jude, Frank worked as a Case Manager at Grandfather Homes for Children, and earlier as an Adoptions Social Worker for DSS.
A recent candidate for the 47th District NC Senate, Frank carried three of the six-county district, and finished a close second. Frank refused a runoff, and says she believes runoffs are not fiscally conservative.
Frank describes herself as a common-sense conservative who believes government truly belongs to the people.

| Candidate Statement:
"Once elected, leaders tend to forget they are public servants," said Frank. "I want to RETURN government TO THE PEOPLE."
Exposing political corruption is important to Frank. Most recently, the North Carolina Court of Appeals ruled, unanimously, in favor of Frank's litigation taken to bring Yancey County commissioners into compliance with the law.
"It reminds elected leaders they are not exempt from following the law," Frank said.
One of Frank's first actions as commissioner will be to tape all meetings and initiate what she calls 'Round Table Discussions.'
"Citizens will be able to ask questions and share ideas with us. It's ALL about the people," Frank says.
Frank says she will work for less government regulation, minimal taxes, and a return to Constitutional principles and true fiscal conservatism.
