Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):

I was born and raised in Hendersonville, North Carolina.  My first summer job was picking cucumbers by day and packing cucumbers by night.  I learned what hard work was all about.  I worked hard in school, and graduated with honors from Clemson University and then went on to graduate with the highest honors from Campbell University's School of Law.  For the last five years, I have worked in the chambers of the Honorable Edward Thomas Brady of the Supreme Court of North Carolina.  On an almost daily basis, I have read and reviewed the decisions of the Court of Appeals and made recommendations to Justice Brady on how the cases should be handled.  This experience has uniquely qualified me to serve on the Court of Appeals.

Candidate Statement:

As a native North Carolinian, I hold to North Carolina values of family, faith, and integrity.  I am the only candidate in this race who has spent the last five years reading the opinions of the Court of Appeals and making recommendations on them to a member of the Supreme Court.  I believe that judges should apply the law as it is written and not attempt to create new law.  I will never put the prospect of personal or professional gain above the law.  I am the only true conservative in the race, and a vote for me would be a vote towards restoring the judiciary to its proper place of interpreting the law rather than legislating from the bench.
