Candidate Statement:

I have had the EXPERIENCE of serving the citizens of Wake County as a District Court Judge and Prosecutor for nearly 10 years.   For over four and one half years, I have served as a District Court Judge.  I have presided over calendars of more than fifty thousand cases in Juvenile, Family, Civil and Criminal Courts.

Most people come face to face with our court system in District Court, and they should face a judge with the EXPERIENCE necessary to properly handle their case.   I have EXPERIENCE presiding over cases involving:

  • Drug Dealers
  • Juvenile Court
  • Breaking and Entering
  • Child Support
  • Felonies
  • Misdemeanors
  • Contracts
  • Driving While Impaired
  • Traffic
  • Divorce/ Alimony
  • Landlord/ Tenant
  • Restraining Orders
  • Civil Lawsuits
  • Drug Court
  • Probation Violations
  • Domestic Violence
  • Child Custody
  • and many others

As a Wake County Assistant District Attorney, I prosecuted and convicted murderers, drug dealers, armed robbers, and various other criminals.  Having tried more than 65 jury trials, I have the unique EXPERIENCE of understanding the responsibility a judge has in deciding cases based on the evidence.   Also, I worked with DEA agents in wiretapping cases to stop the smuggling of drugs from Mexico and to incarcerate those responsible
I know my role as judge is to follow the Constitution and the law, not to impose my opinion.  Politics should not corrupt the unbiased nature of court.  When I have decided important issues such as the custody of a child, there was no room for politics or opinions.  Parties in all types of cases should be treated fairly and according to the evidence, not the judge's personal belief.

I do not have a conservative, liberal, or activist agenda.  My agenda is to follow the Constitution and the law.

I am a Judge with EXPERIENCE, and I ask for your vote.
