Born February 14, 1960 in Siler City, NC

Resident of District since birth

First elected in 1994 -- reelected without opposition, 1998, 2002, 2006

Appointed Chief Judge in 1996 serving and retained by four NC Supreme Court Chief Justices

Past President NC Association of District Court Judges

Past President NC Conference of Chief District Judges

Married with three children

My priorities for the next four years are:

1. To continue to improve safe outcomes for families facing child abuse and neglect and family violence;

2. To improve case management for traffic safety cases, including Driving While Impaired and dangerous motor vehicle offenders to insure personal accountability and public safety for other drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians;

3. To improve outcomes for juvenile offenders to give them a chance to live peacefully and successfully in our communities and protect the public from unlawful and dangerous acts.
