| Candidate Statement:
The work of our court touches nearly every family - from speeding tickets to custody cases. For many, if not most people, the people elected as your district court judges are far more likely to have a personal impact on your family and friends than those elected as President or Senator. For that reason I strive to allow litigants their opportunity to be heard. Over the last ten years I have heard tens of thousands of cases, some extremely complex and emotional, gaining invaluable experience. No matter how large or small, every case is important and receives equal attention. I strive to treat every person involved with patience and respect, while fairly applying the law. I am dedicated to deciding each case on the merits without fear or favor, pursuant to the law.
Each year there are over 50,000 cases filed in Cabarrus County District Court to be heard by four district court Judges. I have the experience and commitment to resolve these matters. In an effort to improve our civil court case management I led the process of implementing a new case management system along with the help of my colleagues. Cabarrus County is consistently considered one of the top in case management efficiency.
I have a history of public service that is reflective of a family heritage of that same community spirit. My father was Mayor of Davidson for 14 years, after serving many years on the town board. My uncle, Joe Knox, was Mayor of Mooresville for 26 years, and held state-level positions including the Governor's Crime Control Commission, and president of the League of Municipalities. My uncle Eddie Knox was Mayor of Charlotte and a former state senator.
Please help me continue this legacy of public service with your vote.
