Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):

I am the only conservative Republican running for this District Court seat. My wife, Beth, and I are lifelong conservative Republicans. We, along with our daughters, Sophie and Madeline, are proud to call Conover, North Carolina home and are active members of Mountain View Baptist Church.

Beth and I own a small law firm and know what it takes to run a small business. After graduating from Lenoir-Rhyne University, I obtained my law degree from Campbell University. Since opening the doors of my practice in 2002, I have had the privilege of learning (from the bottom up) what it takes to run a small business. From meeting the needs of my clients to making sure my employees are adequately cared for, I have learned, firsthand, the problems that people and businesses face on a daily basis. I have always worked hard for everything that I have achieved. I understand the value of a dollar, an opportunity and how everyday people live.

From the extensive trial and appellate court training I received during law school at Campbell University to the broad spectrum of clients I have had the privilege to serve during my practice of law, I have obtained a very unique set of skills and experience. I have had the opportunity to help a diverse group of individuals and businesses with their legal needs. I will take to the bench the knowledge, insights and sense of service I have gained in helping others that will prove to be invaluable in assisting me to make the right decisions for those that appear before me and for our community.

Candidate Statement:

As a lifelong resident of western North Carolina, I know the importance of traditional conservative values to the citizens of this district. I hold those same values. I am a lifelong supporter of our right to keep and bear arms, private property owner's rights and limited government.

I will dispose of cases fairly and efficiently. I will prepare myself in advance for the cases that are to come before me, making every effort to learn the facts and applicable law so that I may make informed decisions that are in the best interest of all parties involved and our community. I will use my time wisely and I will ask the parties and attorneys that appear before me to do their part in helping to make our district courts run as efficiently as possible while seeking the fair administration of justice.

I will bring to the bench the ability to fairly apply the complex and ever changing laws to the everyday problems that my neighbors and fellow business owners are facing. I will bring my commitment to work hard to keep our court system accountable, accessible and responsible to all of the citizens of this district.
