| District Court (District 27A - Gaston) |
|
Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):
I am a Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Navy. I have had a job since I was 15 years old doing everything from car hopping at RO's to landscaping and irrigation after the Navy.
I was raised in a Christian home and grew up in Saint Andrews ARP Church. I went on to be a member of First ARP Church until I married and have since joined Pisgah ARP Church where I currently serve as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
I received my name from my grandfather, Dr. Gus Anthony, who I have always loved and admired and hope to become worthy of his good name. My parents are Tony and Ann Anthony, why still live in Gastonia.
I have worked as a lawyer in Gaston County for almost 14 years, working both for the State and in private practice. During that time I have gained extensive experience in all areas of District Court practice. I have handled virtually every type of case over which I would preside as a District Court Judge. I know what it takes to prepare these cases and I know the law.
These and other qualities make me the best candidate to serve Gaston County as a District Court Judge.

| Candidate Statement:
I am tired of the way society has decayed and I can no longer abide seeing people that don't feel safe in their own homes, or secure with their belongings. Like it or not, the law is the law and people must be held accountable for their actions. Repeat offenders must be punished for their continued disregard for the law and the safety and security of law abiding citizens.
If given the opportunity to sit as a District Court Judge, I will do all I can to protect you, the citizens of Gaston County, as well as to ensure your safety.
I will further pledge to expedite the flow of cases through the system. No valid reason exists for the system to require a victim of a crime to attend court numerous times and still not obtain justice. I will work hard to restore your faith and confidence in the legal system.
