Candidate Statement:

My name is Rebecca Steen and I am proud to be a candidate for the NC House in District 101. When I get to Raleigh, my priority will be the People. I believe in common-sense politics and will strive to represent the people in District 101 with highest integrity while keeping the best interest of the people in mind.

We need to get our priorities in order. Once I'm elected, I vow to do the following:

  • Fight for good jobs and small business expansion in North Carolina
  • Vote for tax cuts and against future tax increases; eliminate the so-called "temporary tax increases"
  • Make funding for education a priority in North Carolina, thereby assuring that all children have access to a solid education

In addition, I stand for the following:

  • Promoting smaller government and lower taxes
  • Increasing the amount of take-home pay for families
  • Spending our tax money wisely and in a way that will be the most beneficial for North Carolina citizens
  • Attracting small businesses to North Carolina which will boost out economy and in turn create more private sector jobs
  • Overcoming racial distrust and inequities; leaning to work together across party lines
  • Holding our lawmakers personally accountable for their votes and actions
  • Fostering a safe environment for our children, the elderly and the citizens of North Carolina

This seat does not belong to a Democrat or Republican. This is the People's seat and the People need to have a State Representative that will represent their best interests. Please make your voice heard and vote on November 2.
