Beth Dawson is currently a member of the Cape Fear Museum of History and Science Advisory Board. She is a former member of the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees, and Foundation Board of Directors. She began her banking career with NCNB in 1978, and retired in 2000 with Bank of America. She has served on numerous other community service boards in New Hanover County and is a member of the New Hanover County Republican Executive Committee.

Beth and her husband Dan have been married for 31 years and have resided in New Hanover County for 25 years.
