Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):
I am proud to have been born and raised in Durham County. I have lived my whole life in northwestern Durham and am fortunate to know so many wonderful people who live in the area. I am also a product of Durham Public Schools and graduated from Northern High School in 2004. I then furthered my education by enrolling at Durham Technical Community College, where I attended for two years, while also working full-time. In January of 2007, I was hired by a leading manufacturing company. I am now the company's senior lab technician.

| Candidate Statement:
I decided to campaign for NC House District 30 for several reasons. First and foremost, I believe the voters deserve to have a choice in who represents them in the North Carolina House of Representatives. My opponent has either run unopposed or faced token opposition for far too long. I also decided to run because our state, like our country, is off on the wrong track.
We need representatives who understand the needs and concerns of their constituents. We need representatives who will fight for job growth and economic development. We need representatives who truly want the best education system available for our children. That is why I support lifting the cap on the number of charter schools in North Carolina. Finally, we need representatives who are fiscally responsible. The money that the state legislature spends is your money!
I have had a passion for politics since before I was even in high school. I have been active in supporting candidates at various levels running for office in the past, both with my time and financially. I have also contributed regularly to the letters to the editor section to the Herald-Sun newspaper in Durham. I have a desire to represent the people who live in the area where I was born and raised and have lived my entire life. It would be an honor to be your state representative and I ask for your vote on November 2nd!
