| Candidate Statement:
The progressive state government in Raleigh has created a fiscal nightmare. North Carolina is billions in debt, unnecessary regulations stifle small business and most of our public schools are educational deserts. Obama Care and even more unfunded federal mandates will shortly crush individual liberties and require additional confiscation of our incomes. With this election North Carolinians can vote to protect themselves from these rogue governments and stop this corrosive socialism. To that end I propose:
- Decreasing state corporate income taxes, perhaps 20%/year until they reach 0%.
- A rapid reduction in personal state income taxes.
- Eliminating redundant or unnecessary state agencies.
- Restricting the concept of eminent domain strictly to 'public use' instead of 'public purpose'.
- Legislation which nullifies extra-constitutional mandates forced on North Carolina by the federal government.
- Insisting that the federal government adhere to the 10th amendment of the US Constitution.
- Supporting the repeal of the 17th amendment to the US Constitution.
- North Carolina school vouchers, allowing parents to decide where their children go to school.
- Cutting state spending at least 5% the first year then 10% a year after that for three years. A balanced budget amendment would make these cuts permanent.
- Enacting an immigration law in North Carolina similar to Arizona's.
- A complete review of all laws passed in the last 5 years. Any regulation which needlessly restricts individual liberty should be repealed.
- Supporting a secession movement if point 6 does not happen.
