I have lived in Greensboro since 1987. I was raised in northern Wisconsin and attended College in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1985. Professionally, I am a technical and management consultant to public water and sewer utilities throughout the United States. My wife, Linda and I have three children. My oldest attends Appalachian State University and my other two children attend Guilford County public schools. I consider myself no different from other North Carolinians. Like many I desire the freedom and opportunity to provide for my family and teach my children the values that I believe are important which are faith, accountability, honesty and hard work.

| Candidate Statement:
We are facing very uncertain and troubling times in our communities, our State and our Country. For over 12 years, the democrats have held the majority in the NC House. During that time they have presided over the most reckless and uncontrolled growth of our State government than at any other time in our State's history. Today the result of their tax and spend strategy have put our State in a weak competitive position. Our State government is too large and we can no longer afford to tax our businesses and citizens to pay for politics as usual. Too many elected officials have used their elected seats to control the flow of tax payer dollars for their own benefit, or the benefit of a select few. I do not desire to become a career politician, rather my candidacy is rooted in my belief that elected office should be a temporary volunteer position and if elected I will only serve two terms. If elected my immediate focus will be to;
Focus on getting the State economy growing - Our goal should be to be the most business friendly State in the union.
Aggressively attack unnecessary spending - We need to drive down unnecessary spending in order to rapidly become the most business friendly state in the union. Once we address our spending then we can reduce taxes to create a more business friendly environment which in turn will create jobs.
Representation - District 58 is a diverse district. I believe that the district lacks complete coverage of representation from the Northeast area around Gibsonville down to the rural area of Southeast Guilford County. The 70,000 residents of District 58 deserve representation that is willing to work to address the needs of the entire district.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my candidacy.
