Candidate Statement:

I have represented the people of this district for eight years. I have had great support in the community and Raleigh during that time. I feel that I have accomplished some great things for the district. I was instrumental in working with the rest of the delegation to bring the heart center to ECU.  The Heart Center touches many people across Eastern North Carolina and has added 500 jobs to Pitt Memorial Hospital and 200 jobs to the Heart Center with an additional payroll of $20 million dollars a year.

Most recently I have been instrumental in working with the delegation to bring a dental school to ECU. A dental school is a much needed addition in Eastern North Carolina as there are four counties in our state without a dentist. The dental school will do the same thing for Eastern North Carolina that the Heart Center has accomplished in terms of jobs and providing a superior level of care. I am up for re-election in November. I have always supported the people in this district and I hope that they will support me in this election.
