| Candidate Statement:
Serving as a Superior Court Judge carries with it great responsibility. The winners of Superior Court elections are not sent to Washington or Raleigh to represent us. Instead, they will preside in open courtrooms right in our communities. While I have handled many types of cases and represented clients at every level of the North Carolina court system, the bulk of my practice is in Superior Court. There is no better preparation for an aspiring judge than actual courtroom experience.
With the experience I have gained in my active and busy law practice, I fully understand and value the importance of fairness in our court system to everyone involved, whether defendant, victim, plaintiff, witness or attorney. It is the job of the judge to ensure that cases are heard fairly and impartially and that all parties leave the courtroom having had their day and court with their case decided on the merits and in accordance with the rule of law. I am committed to this principle, and I will be honored to serve as one of your Superior Court Judges.
