Candidate Statement:
Nine years ago, Governor Jim Hunt appointed me to succeed Tom Ross as one of the five Superior Court Judges for Guilford County. In 2002, I was elected to an eight-year term. I now stand for re-election and ask for your vote and your support.
I practiced law for almost thirty years, and my law practice included both trial and corporate work. For several years before appointment to the bench, I focused on complex litigation. My practice has enabled me to bring to the bench an unusual breadth and depth of experience, and my nine years on the bench have only broadened and deepened that experience.
I believe in the rule of law, and that a judge should be fair, patient, respectful, efficient, experienced and knowledgeable. I believe that I bring those qualities to the office of Superior Court Judge. I love what I do, and I am excited about completing a rewarding legal career by continuing to serve my State.
