I am a life long native of Mitchell County.  I am 57 years old, married to my wife Connie for 30 years, with 2 adult children.  I am a graduate of Western Carolina University and North Carolina Central University School of Law.  I have been a trial attorney for over 30 years in the general practice of law. 

I am a member of Spruce Pine, NC First Baptist Church, North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, and I previously served as a Superior Court Judge for the 24th Judicial District. 

I am a current Trustee of The Blue Ridge Regional Hospital System, past Trustee of Mayland Community College, Presidential Elector - 1992, 2009 recipient of the Distinguished Citizen Award from Mayland Community College.  I am a BV rated attorney with Martindale Hubbell Peer Review Ratings and former Outstanding Young Man in America.
