Former governor Jim Hunt, NC State University Chancellor James Oblinger and leaders from North Carolina's business and academic communities teamed up once again to look to the future during a new Emerging Issues Forum. The 2006 Emerging Issues Forum explores ways-on state, national and international fronts-of "Financing the Future." Subtopics include fairness, simplicity and efficiency; how government and business can work together; and financing education.

In this program, former governor Jim Hunt moderates a panel discussion on the topic of how North Carolina should address its ever-increasing need to fund education. The panel includes NC State Superintendent June Atkinson, president of the North Carolina community college system Martin Lancaster as well as other professionals in the educational community.
