Producer's Assistant Internship

Preferred Major
RTVMP, Mass Communications, Journalism, or related field.

Requirements
Junior, Senior, Graduate level.

Project Objective
Research, develop program content, participate in the studio/field production creation of programs and edit and promote the program for air.

Project Supervisor
Galen Black

Major Tasks
Work closely with Producer/Directors to create television segments, program and series. Intern will develop relationships with key individuals across the state, uncover excellent story ideas, locate interview subjects, research story topics, schedule shooting, write stories, transcribe taped interview content, work in crew roles during productions and edit . Interns' work will occur in-house and in the field. Some statewide travel may be involved.

Final Product or Outcome
Interns will have a direct impact on at least one segment, program or series and will get beginning-to-end producing experience as a key part of our production team. Particularly motivated interns may be able to do their own story for statewide broadcast. By the end of the internship all interns will have at least three original television news stories to take with them, created under the supervision of and in conjunction with full-time producers
