Let’s look at ways of involving every child, even the child with physical limitations.
Hines:
If you have a child with disabilities, what could you do? Especially if it is a child with a physical/motor disability that cannot walk, what kinds of things could you do to help that child to become more mobile or to get their exercise in?
F:
Sit-ups.
Hines:
Sit-ups. What else?
F:
Arms.
Hines:
Arms. Anything else?
M:
Stretch.
Hines:
Stretching, okay, necks. There is a song that Sesame Street does that says there is a workout in a chair. So you are sitting in a chair and, “There is a workout in the chair. Up, down, up, down, a workout in the chair. Up, down, up, down, move your body everywhere. There is a workout in the chair. Up, down, up, down,” so that is something that you could do.
