The Orange Bag
Hines:
Now our participants will look into their own Fit Together bag which contains so many useful classroom resources.
All of our workshops are based on the learning triangle educational model of learning. We believe that learning occurs as you read with children, as you view educational media, and as you do related activities. One of the review activity sheets is even included in the lesson plans.
Hines:
Now I gave everybody a wonderful orange bag. Pull out your great big orange bag. I am going to get mine.
F:
Beautiful bag.
Hines:
Do you like the bag?
F:
Love it.
Hines:
I do too! These are wonderful! We designed these bags just so you would have something to keep all of your neat activities in. Now look inside your bag and see what you have in there.
F:
A timer.
Hines:
Now is this a timer or a pedometer to help you with your steps? And you have some shoe reflectors and the shoe reflectors go on your sneakers just like this, so when you are walking out, even in the evening, you can use your shoe reflectors. And if you need some of these shoe reflectors for your classrooms, for the children in your classrooms, we can get you some of those. What else do you see? A Frisbee.
F:
A Teletubby book.
Hines:
That’s right, a Teletubby book and what else? Jump rope and a wrist band, orange wrist band. Now some of you might have some things in your zip-up bag because some of the things I put in the zip part of your bag and some I just threw in the bottom of it, okay? And who do you see right here? Read-A-Roo. So whatever you don’t have in your bag—okay, we will make sure you get it. But this is just one—now you can keep all of your materials for Fit Together in this big bag or when you go outside you can carry all of your fitness activities in this big bag so that you don’t have to worry about where you are going to keep your things stored.
