Sethu Raman, PhD, State Climatologist
Dr. Raman is the p rofessor of meteorology in the NC State department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences. In addition, he is a member of the North Carolina Emergency Response Team. His research interests are ocean-atmosphere interaction, coastal meteorology, soil-vegetation-atmosphere-transfer processes, biosphere-atmosphere interaction, planetary boundary layer, North Carolina climatology, climate environment interaction, air pollution modeling, numerical weather forecasting, mesoscale dynamics, tropical cyclones, and monsoon dynamics. He received his doctorate in 1972 from Colorado State University.
Lou Turner, Interim Public Health Preparedness Coordinator
Dr. Lou Turner is the director of the North Carolina State Laboratory of Public Health. The State Laboratory of Public Health provides certain medical and environmental laboratory services (testing, consultation and training) to public and private hea l th provider organizations responsible for the promotion, protection and assurance of the health of North Carolina citizens. |
