Dr. Joyce Blackwell, Chair & Associate Professor of History, at Saint Augustine College
Mel White, Director of African Programs for Old Salem, which represents the Western
part of North Carolina. . Mr. White has researched the lives of African Americans who lived in and around Salem and worshiped at St. Philips church, a goldmine of information and photographs have been forthcoming from residents of modern day Happy Hill.
Dr.Debra Smith, Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Dr. Smith primary interest and research examines the stereotypical images of blacks in film and television from the 1900s the present; and individual perception based upon electronic media representations.
Dr.Craig C. Brookins, Assoc. Prof. in the Department of Psychology, NCSU. Dr. Brookins has researched the topic of ethnic identity and its relationship to self-esteem, perceived efficacy and prosocial attitudes in early adolescence.
Dr. Robert Smith, Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Dr. Smith is researching the impact of law and public policy on African Americans and is working on publishing a book titled Race, Labor & Civil Rights
