Gulf War
The Gulf War, also known as Desert Shield/Desert Storm, played a significant part in America's war history for a number of reasons. First, it was the shortest war the United States had ever known, lasting for only six months. Second, it was the first war since World War II that did not utilize the American draft, since the military force and technology of the United States was so vastly superior to those of Iraq. Third, it emphasized a need for the United States to finance its ground defense, since many of the attacks required quick deployment of ground troops against the Iraqi army. Continues....
