World War II and the United States
 The thought of World War II brings back pictures of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hitler and the oppression of the Jews, and the United States' bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Although the war began years before the United States became involved, U.S. veterans of World War II vividly remember the days between December 7, 1941 and August 15, 1945.
