Dandelion
Plant and Their Uses
Click for an interactive version of this plant tour.

Before you learn how you can use plants for things, you have to know what they look like to find them.

You might go out with your mom, dad or other adult in the house and look for these plants. Remember not to put anything in your mouth, eat, or even touch a plant that you're not familiar with. If you're not sure if a plant is safe, ask an adult for help.

Elderberries are commonly used in wine, pies, and jams. While they are very good when they are cooked, they should not be eaten raw, as the seeds are poisonous. Elderberries also contain large quantities of vitamin C, so along with being good to eat, they are good for you!
