To some it's the biggest night of their lives. To
others it's just another night to study, babysit, go out with friends,
or just goof off in front of the TV. Regardless of whether you see
it as a rite of passage or a night to forget, the prominence of
the prom cannot be ignored. Tune in High School Assembly, Thursday,
April 11, at 1 PM, as Natalie Bullock-Brown hosts a diverse panel
of students, teachers, parents--even a limousine driver-to explore
the ins and outs and ups and downs of prom night.
From stress over being asked to the prom, to significant
cash outlays for formal dresses, tuxedo rentals, limousines, dinner
and flowers, to peer pressure with sex, drugs and alcohol, High
School Assembly examines this annual spring ritual. Parents will
learn how to be involved but not overbearing. Students will get
the lowdown on the serious side of this spring fling-including issues
of sex and date rape, alcohol and drug abuse, and surviving social
drama. Viewers like you can share your questions, experiences and
tips with our panelists and live in-studio high school student audience.
