Students and School Violence

High School Assembly focused on violence in America's schools Thursday, September 28, at 1 PM. During this live, call-in program, viewers were given the opportunity to call 1-800-555-3120 or fax comments and questions to 919-549-7070.

Prior to High School Assembly, UNC-TV aired Students vs. School Violence at noon. This drama, written and produced by David Creech, attempts to show how all of us, through our actions and ignorance, contribute to school violence. Students from Raleigh's Broughton High School and Wake Forest High School depict the drama of a courtroom trial about violence.

High School Assembly tracked the reaction of UNC-TV's in-studio student audience and viewers at home. Expert panelists explored ways to actively prevent the growth of school violence.
