Dear [NAME]
We are looking forward to seeing you on DATE from TIME to TIME for our upcoming workshop, You Have an Outdoor Classroom! How Can You Use It? - Inquiry-Based Learning In the Schoolyard . We hope that you are as well! In this packet, you will find more information about the workshop agenda, information about what to bring on the day of the workshop, three articles and accompanying questions for your pre-visit activity, directions to the WORKSHOP LOCATION, and a mileage reimbursement form that you should fill out before you arrive at the workshop.
You should have sent in your $35 deposit to hold your space. This check will not be cashed and will be returned to you upon your arrival on DATE. If you do not attend the workshop, the check will be cashed as a tax-deductible donation to ORGANIZATION. This is a full workshop, so if you know in advance that you will not be able to attend, please let us know right away so somebody else can take your spot.
This workshop is all about how to use your school grounds in inquiry-based lessons, so we will be outside for most of the time. Please come prepared to spend the day outside no matter what the weather conditions. We recommend dressing in layers so that you will be comfortable whether it be warm or cold. You should also bring a raincoat, water bottle, and wear long pants and closed-toed shoes.
The workshop itself is 6 hours. In order to get the full credit for a 10-hour workshop, there are pre- and post-visit activities. We ask that everyone do the pre- and post-workshop activities. The pre-workshop activity materials are included. We ask that you answer the questions on the Pre-Workshop Activity page before you read the three articles that have been provided. We will use your answers and material from the articles during the workshop.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions of concerns. You can call John Doe at (919) 999-9999 or e-mail JohnDoe@hotmail.com. We look forward to seeing you on DATE!
Sincerely,
John Doe
