PBS Interactive Resources

PBS and its other member stations provide a host of ongoing and programmatic resources meant to add online interactive components to their thought-provoking on-air offerings. Whether you want specific renovation tips from the guys at This Old House, would like to query reporters at The Newshour on their recent commentary, or desire to share personal thoughts and perspectives on the latest FRONTLINE coverage, and beyond, there’s a PBS interactive resource waiting to put the public back into public television.

Bill Moyers Journal: Blog
Bill Moyers returns to public television and invites you to join the dialogue with the Bill Moyers Journal blog, a community of viewers seeking new points of view and expressing and exchanging ideas. The blog offers food for thought, more from Moyers’ guests, fresh voices, articles of note, and blogs from Moyers weighing in himself.

Cyberchase Club's Cyber Science
Kids, have you ever done a math or science project that you were really proud of? The Cyberchase gang encourages you to write a story about it and send it through this interactive site.  Check back soon to see your story posted alongside interactive Cyber art, e-cards, and Cyber games!

For Your Home: "Going Green" Blog
UNC-TV's premier how-to series returns in April to provide energy-saving advice from dynamic DIY duo Vicki Payne and Sloan Rutter. Check out the new FYH "Going Green" Blog, a great way to share how you're making a difference for the environment!

FRONTLINE/World: React
FRONTLINE/World turns its lens on the global community, covering countries and cultures rarely seen on American television. Now this acclaimed national PBS series invites conversation around FRONTLINE stories seen both on television and the site's comprehensive video archive. FRONTLINE/World's online React section takes your personal thoughts and perspective and shares them with the world.

MediaShift
MediaShift is your guide to the digital media revolution! Hosted by journalist and media expert Mark Glaser, this PBS weblog track how new media—from weblogs to podcasts to citizen journalism—are changing society and culture. The site provides an array of interactive media, including "your take" message boards, "buzzworthy" blog posts, and the all-new "Idea Lab," full of the latest and greatest in new media feedback.

Called "one of the last bastions of serious journalism on TV," NOW brings its great television topics and in-depth discussions to the web with its Feedback Forum. Read the comments of other visitors below or submit your own thoughts, opinions, reactions and ideas regarding topical talks on timely subjects.

The Online NewsHour: Presidential Election Coverage: Vote 2008: RSS Feeds
RSS is an easy way for you to be alerted when content that interests you appears on your favorite websites. Instead of visiting a particular site to browse for new articles and features, RSS automatically tells you when something new is posted online. And if you're a political junkie, The Newshour's Vote 2008 election feeds are the perfect way to stay informed online.

Insider Forum is The Online Newshour's weekly, user-generated interview program. Simply check in each Wednesday for the latest timely online discussions and pose your own topical questions to be answered by experts of the day.
