Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Celebration Read-a-roo joins the South Regional Library for a very special storytime in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday! Join us as we read books, sing songs and do activities that celebrate Dr. Seuss and the upcoming movie The Lorax. Be sure to bring a camera to take pictures with our beloved Read-a-roo.

When: Saturday, October 15, 2011 The JFK Guest Star Day will consist of live appearances from Mr. McFeely from Mister Roger's Neighborhood, and beatbox entertainer Shock from The Electric Company. As always, Read-a-roo invited some of her favorite PBS pals to visit the North Carolina Fair. Be sure to bring your cameras for photo opportunities with Clifford the Big Red Dog, Betsy from Betsy's Kindergarten Adventures, Cookie Monster from Sesame Street, Curious George, Super Why and Alpha Pig from SuperWhy! and Read-a-roo! The fun doesn’t end on Saturday! Don’t forget to stop by weekdays to see Read-a-roo and her pal Clifford the Big Red Dog as they make surprise appearances in the UNC-TV Pavilion.

UNC-TV's Read-a-roo is on the road again! This time Roo travels to Graham, NC for another Just for Kids event. See the details below: Where: Family Fare Service Station (Back Lot) 301 S. Main St., Graham, NC 27253 Activities: Meet and Greet: Partners: Get Ready, Get Set, Get Back to School…With UNC-TV, Join Read-a-roo’s PBS KIDS pals for 3 exciting, enlightening and enriching back to school activities hosted by community partners, PBS KIDS Betsy’s Kindergarten Adventures, military partners and UNC-TV. Event 1 This event is free for rising kindergartners and their families to get off to a smooth start for 2011-12. Let’s all get “ready to learn.” Come and meet Betsy from PBS KIDS Betsy’s Kindergarten Adventures, PEEP and Quack from PEEP and the Big Wide World, and UNC-TV’s own Read-a-roo. Meet and Greet Schedule: 6:30 PM to 7 PM 7:30PM to 8 PM Kickoff to Kindergarten is a free event offered by the Greensboro Children’s Museum to help prepare children and their families for kindergarten. The Museum has partnered with Guilford County Schools to have kindergarten teachers and school leaders available to answer last minute questions for the students and parents and to provide helpful information. Children will get to have fun exploring the museum’s exhibits, practice boarding a real school bus, sample tasty options for healthy snacks & lunches and take home goody bags filled with school supplies. Also, they can meet Martha from Martha Speaks, PEEP and Quack from PEEP and the Big Wide World, Betsy from PBS KIDS Betsy’s Kindergarten Adventures, and UNC-TV’s own Read-a-roo starting at 3 PM! Event 3 Kick off your child's successful school career at Kickoff to Kindergarten at Marbles Kids Museum! Celebrate this major milestone with purposeful play and practice to prepare your child for their first day of school. Also, starting at 11:30 AM come and meet Betsy from PBS KIDS Betsy’s Kindergarten Adventures, Martha from Martha Speaks, Cat In the Hat from The Cat In the Hat Knows Alot About That! and get your picture taken beside the train from the hit PBS show Dinosaur Train. Museum admission on August 20th is free for kindergartners and their families. Other guests pay the regular admission fee. Meet and Greet Schedule: 1 PM to 1:30 PM Let's Move-Dance Into Fitness with Angelina Ballerina When: Saturday, July 23, 2011, 10am to 2pm
