UNC-TV brings SUPER WHY! characters Super Why (Whyatt) and Woofster from the beloved children's show out of the television and into real life appearing LIVE at two events in New Bern!

June 1, 2012 New Bern-Craven County Public Library / 9:30am - 12:30pm
UNC-TV will be on hand at the New Bern-Craven County Public Library for a very special story time event! We will be screening the new SUPER WHY! Around the World Adventure episodes, enjoying a story time reading with librarian Pam Jenkins, and conducting floating meet and greets with Super Why and Woofster!

June 2, 2012 / Neuse River Day @ Union Point Park / 9:00am - 3:00pm
UNC-TV and the SUPER WHY! characters are teaming up with New Bern's very own The Little Red Bookmobile and the Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation to attend Neuse River Day in Union Point Park. UNC-TV staff will have SUPER WHY! mask-making/activity stations and rotating screenings of the two new episodes! Whyatt and Woofster will be popping in and out for floating meet-n-greets in half-hour increments at 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm. All this time, The Little Red Bookmobile will be in on the fun with hands-on science touch tables and free book giveaways for the children!

UNC-TV Partners With American Dance Festival for Fun Angelina Ballerina Workshops

Dinosaur TrainThe American Dance Festival (ADF) Project Dance invites you to join in the celebration of UNC-TV’s Angelina Ballerina as she embarks on the next stage in her life where she experiences life at a new school. Inspired by award-winning children’s book author Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig, the Angelina Ballerina: the Next Steps program follows eight-year-old Angelina Ballerina, a fictional mouse, as she explores new forms of music and dance (including modern dance!) at the new school. This May and June, the ADF Project Dance will collaborate with UNC-TV to offer 3 creative movement workshops plus "The Durham Dance Day" community event for children that will also include Angelina Ballerina activities and giveaways. Angelina fans won’t want to miss these dancing event!

Join Curious George as he makes a guest star appearance at the Kidical Mass Bike Ride! This is one of several events that are for youth and designed to bring attention to Earth Week and Earth Day through fun, educational activities. All events are FREE! Kids and parents are invited to bring their bikes and line-up for a short ride around Carrboro. ALL Ages are welcomed to this event! Parents and adult chaperones must be present and all are welcome to participate in the biking activity. All riders MUST have a helmet and bring bottled water. JFK Guest Star Day at the NC State Fair

Kickoff to Kindergarten is a free event offered by the Greensboro Children’s Museum to help prepare children and their families for kindergarten. The Museum has partnered with Guilford County Schools to have kindergarten teachers and school leaders available to answer last minute questions for the students and parents and to provide helpful information. Children will get to have fun exploring the museum’s exhibits, practice boarding a real school bus, sample tasty options for healthy snacks & lunches and take home goody bags filled with school supplies.
