Eszter Vajda
Senior Producer of Public Affairs
Eszter Vajda was born in Budapest, Hungary. At the age of six her family moved to Israel where they lived for two years. Next the family relocated across the ocean to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Shortly after they moved to California. But a year later it was back to Brazil, this time Sao Paulo. Two years later Eszter’s family settled in Massachusetts. But her journey was not over.
Eszter attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and received a BA in History with a minor in Exercise Science. She also spent one semester studying in Pecs, Hungary. After college Eszter taught in Szekesfehervar, Hungary through the Peace Corps and Beloit College. Upon her return Eszter attended Northeastern University in Boston and received a Masters in History. During that time, Eszter interned at WBZ-TV a CBS affiliate in Boston. Her first on-air job was at WCAP-AM talk radio as an anchor/reporter in Lowell, MA. Her TV experience includes anchoring and reporting at a cable station in Mass, WBKP (ABC) in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, WVNY (ABC) in Burlington, Vermont and freelancing at several stations in New England.
Eszter enjoys traveling, reading, cross country skiing, running, tennis and most importantly catching up with friends and family around the world.
Kelly McCullen
Kelly McCullen was born and raised in Clinton, NC. After starting his career, in radio, at Clinton's WRRZ-AM, he attended North Carolina State University and launched his television career at UNC-TV as an intern in the audio department.
His on-camera career started in Greenville, Mississippi, with WXVT-TV's news department where Kelly eventually became nightly news anchor and assistant news director for four years. The journey returns him to UNC-TV, Legislative Week in Review and to his North Carolina roots.
When the legislature isn't in session, Kelly reports for the nightly newsmagazine North Carolina Now.
He enjoys picking his guitar, reading, small-scale home improvement projects and spending time with family and friends.
