2002 Season
 John Drescher was raised in North Carolina and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and of Duke University. For twelve years he was on the staff of the Charlotte Observer as a state capital reporter, government editor, city editor, front-page editor, and regional editor. He is currently the managing editor of The State newspaper in Columbia, South Carolina, where he lives.
