2005 Season
 Martha Witt grew up in Hillsborough, North Carolina, the setting of her first novel, Broken As Things Are. She received her MA in creative writing at Johns Hopkins University and an MFA in fiction writing at New York University, where she was a New York Times Fellow. Currently, she lives in New York City with her husband, son, and daughter.
