Pat Taylor was born in Wadesboro, NC, in 1924. He went on to receive undergraduate and legal degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and to serve in both World War II and the Korean War. In later years, Taylor led a storied, successful political career. Among many accomplishments, he served as Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives, Chairman of the State Board of Mental Health, and Lieutenant Governor.
A recipient of countless citations for his tireless work on improving life in North Carolina, Taylor continues to practice law in Wadesboro in addition to serving on numerous corporate and academic committees.
Pat Taylor is the father of three children and had four grandchildren. He and his wife, Elizabeth, continue to live in Wadesboro, NC, where he is a popular local storyteller.
