TODD JOHNSON was born and raised in North Carolina. Following a career as a teacher and studio singer with renowned recording artists, he received a Tony Award nomination as a producer of The Color Purple on Broadway. He studied history at UNC-Chapel Hill and holds a master’s degree from Yale Divinity School. A longtime resident of Manhattan’s Upper West Side, he now lives in a 250-year-old house in Litchfield County, Connecticut, where he is at work on his second novel. In his spare time, he rides horses and digs in the garden.
