combination of ballet and bluegrass music.

Red Clay Ramblers & Kenan Distinguished Professor of English and Creative Writing, UNC-Chapel Hill--Mr. Herrick and Mr. Simpson will talk about what has kept the Tony Award-winning North Carolina music legends The Red Clay Ramblers going strong for 40-years. The Ramblers will receive the PlayMakers Distinguished Achievement Award on February 11, 2012 at the 24th Annual PlayMakers Ball at UNC-Chapel Hill. Past PlayMakers award honorees include actors David Hyde Pierce, Eva Marie Saint, Faye Dunaway, Louise Fletcher and Billy Crudup, as well as New York Times critic Frank Rich, costume designer William Ivey Long, director Gene Saks and Broadway composer/lyricist Richard Adler.

Dehghan/Founder, WomenNC; Anita Sivakuman/2009 WomenNC Fellow & President, WomenNC and Becca Bishopric/2012 WomenNC Fellow--Ms. Dehghan, Ms. Sivakumar and Ms. Bishopric will discuss the work of WomenNC, an organization founded in Raleigh that is committed to empowering women in North Carolina by engaging them with the United Nations Annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). Ms. Bishopric is doing research on Human and Sex Trafficking in North Carolina. She and four orher students from North Carolina will present their report at the United Nations Commission on Status on Women on March 1, 2012 focusing on empowerment of rural women and their role in poverty and hunger eradication, development and current challenges. The women will
also make a special presentation of their findings in Raleigh on Thursday, February 16,
2012.

place as Greensboro's Triad Stage will present North Carolina native
Reynolds Price's entire New Music trilogy — for the second time since
they were written — in two parts from February
12th-March 18th at the
Pyrle Theater.
Directed by Triad artistic director Preston Lane, the two parts of New
Music will be performed in rotating repertory. Part I: August Snow and
Night Dance will run February
12th-March 17th with an official opening set for February
17th; Part II: Better Days will
be performed from February
21st-March 18th with an official opening set for February
25th.
