400th Year of the Telescope Event----Jeff Smith takes us to Camp Durant in the Moore County of Carthage as area Boy Scouts held the "Shooting for The Stars" event in celebration of the 400th Anniversary of the Invention of the Telescope. The program included teleconferencing events as well as a large variety of telescopes to help the participants peer into the night sky.

Anita Brown-Graham/Director, Institute for Emerging Issues--Ms. Brown-Graham will discuss a unique collaboration between the Institute for Emerging Issues and UNC-TV's "Blueprint America" Project. "Blueprint America" is an initiative that examines infrastructure issues in the United States and internationally. Two town hall meetings will take place to focus on infrastructure issues in North Carolina. One will be held on Wednesday, July 15th in Greensboro and Thursday, July 16th in Fayetteville. The Institute for Emerging Issues' forum this year was "Changing Landscapes: Building the Good Growth State?" that explored ways to manage and improve growth and infrastructure in the Tar Heel State.
