New Bern/Ghana Pt. 1
Thomas Todd begins the first of a five part series on "Voyage of
Discovery to Ghana." In this segment, twenty-one adults and nine
students from New Bern prepare for a week long trip to Ghana, West
Africa. The trip was planned so the participants could learn first
hand about the African heritage of New Bern created by slaves who were
brought to North Carolina. The "Voyage of Discovery to Ghana" was in
conjunction with New Bern's 300th anniversary.

Thomas Todd captures some rather unique events as the group participates in an African traditional naming ceremony and takes on the adventure of walking on the world's longest canopy, suspended more than 100 feet above the rainforest.
