Highlands Biological Station
Heather Burgiss travels west to Highlands to visit the Highlands Biological Station. The facility is located in the southern Appalachian Mountains of southwestern North Carolina. The station's mission is to promote research and education of the diverse flora and fauna of the region in areas of ecology, evolution, and conservation.
