Give Me My Flowers

Motivated by the fact that AIDS is growing most rapidly in the female population here in the South, DeMerritt profiles 16 women who are infected or affected by the HIV/AIDS virus with a fusion of striking black and white photographic portraits and audio interviews.

An accomplished photographer and documentary filmmaker, Carolyn DeMeritt has garnered a number of awards and grants.  Her work appears in a variety of museums and collections in the South.  DeMeritt’s films When I Was Little...I Thought I Could Fly and Just As I Am (with Stuart Grasberg) were featured in the Visions 100 series.
