The Woman Who Was Mistaken for a Ballerina
(EXPERIMENTAL – 8 minutes, 46  seconds)
Christina Clum

Upon viewing the naked and impaled body of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo covered in gold glitter, a horrified onlooker mistakes her for a ballerina.  What follows is an abstract representation of the incident, intended as a tribute to the work of Kahlo, whose paintings often depicted her physical and emotional pain caused by a trolley accident.  Ironically, the accident served as a catalyst for Kahlo’s artistic endeavors.
