The Panama Deception

Widely acclaimed and highly controversial, The Panama Deception is the recipient of the 1992 Academy Award for best documentary feature. The riveting story of the 1989 US invasion of Panama examines a number of shocking events, revealing Manuel Noriega’s long-standing relationship with the CIA, the DEA and President George Bush, and uncovering the true motivation for the invasion.

David Kasper
’s work on social and political documentaries has taken him to Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and the former Soviet Union, and his work as an investigative journalist has appeared in print and on radio.  David and Barbara Trent co-founded the Empowerment Project in 1984, an organization devoted to exposing contentious social and political issues through film and video.  A noted social activist, Barbara lectures nationally and internationally on media and public policy.
