Goodnight, Alden
(NARRATIVE – 17 minutes)
Jeff Leighton

The strife of the Civil War presents an opportunity for a young man to learn about the human spirit that binds us all. As three soldiers meet at a river crossing during the war, they call a truce to trade tobacco and coffee.

Filmmaker Profile: JEFF LEIGHTON

After an illustrious career as an independent filmmaker for the past 19 years in Boston, Los Angeles and North Carolina, Jeff Leighton passed away in the spring of 1997 after a long illness.  Jeff began shooting “Runaways” as one of his first projects in 1981 in Forsyth, Stokes, and Surry Counties.  “Goodnight, Alden,” a collaborative project with his wife, Kim DeCoste, aired on the Visions 100 series.
