"The Golf War"

When Filipino peasants resist converting their ancestral farmland into a golf resort, they face a bloody struggle against developers and their government. Tracking down both armed guerillas and golf boosters (including Tiger Woods), the filmmakers reveal a larger, national battle over land and revolution in, what the LA Times called, "a bombshell of an expose."

Matt DeVries joined UNC-TV, North Carolina’s statewide public television network, four years ago. DeVries has served as an associate producer, Web site project manager, and is now a post-production editor. He has also produced a number of UNC-TV productions and features while acting as videographer, director, animator and editor.
